The Ruijie MINI‑GBIC‑SX‑MM850 is a high‑performance 1000BASE‑SX multimode fibre SFP transceiver designed for reliable Gigabit Ethernet connectivity across short‑range fibre links. Built to the SFP (Mini‑GBIC) MSA form factor, it provides a cost‑effective, energy‑efficient and standards‑compliant solution for connecting switches, routers, servers and network interface controllers in campus networks, data centres and enterprise environments.
Delivering 1.25 Gbps full‑duplex throughput, the MINI‑GBIC‑SX‑MM850 operates at an 850 nm wavelength using a VCSEL transmitter and PIN receiver, ensuring stable optical performance with low power consumption. It supports link distances of up to 550 metres over multimode fibre (MMF), depending on OM‑class cabling, making it ideal for cabinet‑to‑cabinet runs, building interconnects and short‑range backbone links.
The module features a duplex LC connector and conforms to key industry standards including IEEE 802.3z, SFF‑8472, SFF‑8431, SFF‑8432, and the SFP MSA, ensuring broad compatibility with Ruijie switches and other SFP‑enabled equipment. It also supports Digital Diagnostic Monitoring (DDM/DOM), providing real‑time visibility into optical power, temperature, voltage and other critical parameters for proactive network maintenance.
Engineered for dependable operation, the MINI‑GBIC‑SX‑MM850 is hot‑pluggable, allowing installation or replacement without interrupting network services. It operates within a commercial temperature range of 0°C to +70°C, with low power consumption of ≤ 1.5 W, making it suitable for high‑density deployments in wiring closets and data centre racks. The module uses UPC fibre end‑face polishing, ensuring low insertion loss and optimal signal quality.
Safety and compliance are ensured through Class 1 laser certification and RoHS adherence, guaranteeing safe operation and environmentally responsible manufacturing. With a BER of 1.0E‑12, the transceiver delivers highly reliable performance suitable for mission‑critical enterprise networks.
Compact, efficient and fully standards‑compliant, the MINI‑GBIC‑SX‑MM850 is ideal for short‑range fibre uplinks in campus networks, data centres, server rooms and enterprise switching environments. It provides a dependable, plug‑and‑play solution for expanding Gigabit optical connectivity while maintaining excellent performance and long‑term reliability.
